We do business with a personal touch, full transparency and an entrepreneurial drive. Our partners love us for our agility, broad food ingredient product portfolio and our access to African markets. Building and nurturing long-term relationships with people and places.
Our goal transcends business: we want to contribute to Africa’s food supply and (with the Campo Charity Foundation) give back to the continent that brought us so much. With a shared sense of purpose, we’re in it for collective success.
At Campo, we source a wide variety of high-quality food ingredients worldwide. Our global reach ensures you get the best products at competitive prices, tailored to meet your business needs and strengthen your supply chain.
We move quickly and efficiently, with a flexible approach to adapt to market changes. Our team ensures smooth operations and provides valuable insights. With transparency at the core, you remain in control every step of the way.
Relationships matter to us. We regularly meet our partners in Africa, understanding the local market. This personal approach builds lasting trust, creating partnerships that help both sides succeed, now and in the future.
Since our launch in 2018, we have ensured that all our steps make sense in the long run. This attitude continues to enable us to grow both quickly and organically. In the meantime, our investments in a global network and our commitment to the African markets are paying off.
We are the exclusive reseller for Custom Food Ingredients in Africa. This partnership has opened new doors for us and brought a range of high-quality products to the continent. We have also launched our own Campo Milk Powder brand, which is produced in Germany by the renowned DMK. The new product line quickly gained popularity and is now sold in 15 countries.
It is no coincidence that we are based in Amsterdam. For centuries, the city has been a central hub for the global trade in food ingredients and other commodities. Our office is located directly on the canals, overlooking former warehouses.
Yore van Straelen started his career on the trading floor of a Dutch food and agricultural bank. Although all career moves went according to plan, Yore realized that he was trading behind a screen and missed the physical, informal and personal touch in relationships. So his path led him to commodity trading, where physical products and real relationships matter.
With a sixth sense for great business, a love for Africa, and a big heart, he started Campo Commodities. Finally, his childhood wish of combining trade and travel materialized. Not long after, the Campo Charity Foundation was brought to life. It’s Yore’s way of giving back to the most beautiful continent in the world.
